Frequently Asked Questions
Should jump stitches be trimmed during thread changes or after the stitching is complete?
Trimming jump stitches during each thread change is best. If you wait until the end, they can be hard to remove as they become trapped under other stitches.
To make sure you don't get "whiskers", clip one side then pull up on the end to get tautness & clip the other. The thread should spring back & bury itself into the design.
When digitizing, try to eliminate as many jumps as possible. They are time consuming to clip and become trapped under other stitches. While some will appear after conversions or due to the software changing the start/stop points after digitizing is complete, these are usually short and will be covered by fill stitches.
